What is Kumbha Vivah..??
When widow yoga occurs according to Graha in the Kundali of the girl child, then the Kumbh marriage ceremony is performed for its redress.
This yoga is born in the Kundali of the concerned girl. If such a girl marries a groom without marrying with earthen pot (kumbha), then she might suffer (deceased) her groom.
In this ritual, the first bride is married with an idol of Lord Vishnu set in an earthen pot.
This marriage is done in the usual way. It also contained the bride’s Kanyadan. After the entire marriage ceremony, the idol of Vishnu is immersed in the reservoir. Thus the Kumbh (vivah) marriage ceremony is completed. After this the concerned bride can get married with the groom by her wish.

- Before the Kumbh marriage, the idol of Lord Vishnu is placed on a clay pot of Kumbh and worshiped

- After the Kumbha-vivah is over, the idol of Lord Vishnu is immersed in the reservoir/ river.
